Q I don't belong to a Centre County Fire Company, can I still participate in the Challenge?
A Yes, fire companies from the surrounding counties may take part in the event. 

Q Do we have to use fire gloves?
A No, you can use either fire gloves or extrication gloves approved for the fire service. No work gloves.

Q If I compete in a relay team can I still compete as a single competitor?
A Yes, You may compete in both.

Q Can there be more then one relay team from a fire company?
A Yes, you can have as may teams as you would like.

Q Do you need to have an FF1 certification to compete in the Challenge?
A No, you must however be proficient with the use of a SCBA in accordance with your companies SOP's.

Q Will there be a traveling trophy?
A Yes, you may choose one team from each company to have their time qualify for the traveling trophy before the event starts.

Q We don't have a fourth member for our relay team, can we participate with just 3 people?
A Yes, although a big disadvantage you may compete with just 3 people. No one person can do two stations in a row. There must be a hand off at every station.

Q Can the hose advance man be passed the baton while he is holding the nozzle and starting to run, as long as he is beyond the hose advance door way and the target is struck?
A Yes, the event is considered over after the target is struck and the nozzle is shut down. He does not have to have the nozzle on the ground.
